Mayors Forum 2025, Vienna

The annual Mayors Forum of the World Cities Summit is a by-invitation-only global platform for mayors and city leaders to discuss pressing urban challenges and share their cities best practices.
The 14th Mayors Forum will be held from 2 to 4 July 2025 in the City of Vienna, 2020 Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Laureate City.
This year, the key visual Mayors Forum features landmarks and venues relating to this year’s theme and subthemes, namely:
- Danube Island
- Vienna City Hall
- Seestadt Aspern
- Karl Marx Hof
Themes & Subthemes
The theme for Mayors Forum 2025 is “Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Local Solutions, Global Impact”.
The theme will guide discussions for the Mayors Forum, Young Leaders Symposium and partner sessions. Discussions will revolve around our four subthemes:

2a. Re-thinking Urban Energy Transition
2b. Journey Towards Urban Water Management

Mayors Forum 2024, Singapore

Mayors and city leaders from close to 100 cities convened in Singapore to attend the 13th WCS Mayors Forum on 2 June 2024. Chaired by Mr Desmond Lee, Singapore’s Minister for National Development and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, the Forum discussed about balancing ground-up and top-down approaches in planning, and leading cities into the future.

Mayors Forum 2023, Seoul
The 12th World Cities Summit Mayors Forum, hosted by the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize 2018 Laureate city of Seoul, marked a significant gathering of around 50 mayors and city leaders.
From 24 to 26 September 2023, city leaders engaged in lively discussions centred around the theme Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Forging an Inclusive and Resilient Future.

Theme & Subthemes
The theme for the WCS Mayors Forum 2023 is “Liveable and Sustainable Cities: Forging an Inclusive and Resilient Future”.
The theme is centred on the importance of ensuring inclusivity in a society, not leaving anyone behind, particularly the underprivileged, even as cities strive towards urban development and economic success.
The theme will guide discussions for the Mayors Forum as well as the Young Leaders Dialogue.
Our four subthemes:
- How can Mayors forge inclusive societies and empower communities?
- The Soul of the City: how can Mayors conserve culture and heritage?
- How can Mayors accelerate de-carbonisation and strengthen climate resilience?
- How can Mayors facilitate and promote innovation and creativity?
